Andrew Couch brings over 30 years’ diverse experience in retail real estate; investment and operating finance; corporate acquisitions; and strategic divestitures. Specializing in the supermarket industry, Andrew has led companies to growth as well as led large-scale strategic disposition projects. He is active with the Food Marketing Institute and the National Grocers Association. Andrew has led two webinars with Supermarket News: “Growth Strategies and Real Estate in a Transforming Retail Grocery Business” and “How to Prepare for the Coming Wave of Supermarket Consolidation.” His real estate clients include: Supervalu, Food Lion, Marsh, Sweetbay, Fresh & Easy, and Big Y. As Vice-President, Real Estate at Hannaford Bros. (Delhaize) he chaired the Real Estate Committee and the Corporate Development & Finance Committee, guiding Hannaford’s M&A, development and disposition activity. He also served as Vice-President, Investments for Regency Centers, a national REIT; and was a Senior Consultant at KPMG (Washington, DC), providing M&A and valuation services. He holds a BS from West Virginia Wesleyan College and an MS from the University of Maryland, and has completed Executive Education programs at Columbia University and Delhaize Group/Belgium (Management Development).
